Transparent Printing in v4.2 Question: What is transparent printing? Answer: Transparent printing is sending a print job directly to a terminal printer from a Unix server. This is also known as "pass-through printing" and "slave printing." Question: When would I use it? Answer: Use transparent printing when you need to print from any host application to a printer attached to your PC. You can also print to a network printer available to your PC. Question: When I do transparent print, why do I get one page for every line of the printout? Answer: In TinyTERM's Printer Setup, there is a section labeled "Transparent Print Only". In that section, check the box named "Spool Print Jobs". You then have a choice between "Print on Key Press" and "Print on Timeout". TinyTERM will then hold all print jobs in memory until either you press a key on your keyboard (Print on Key Press), or the specified number of seconds go by with no new print data (Print on Timeout). Either way, your printout will take up the correct number of pages. For more details on how to set up TinyTERM's transparent printing, please refer to the "Quick Start" guide, page 9.
