Resolving License errors from TinyTERM

Question :

I downloaded a demo version of your software. Now I've bought it. Is there any way to license the demo version so I don't have to reinstall?

Answer :

Yes, you can add your current license to the evaluation copy of TinyTERM. To do this, click on Start | Programs | TinyTERM and select the License Manager icon. Click the Upgrade button to get the Add Licenses window. Enter your new serial number and activation key, then click the Update License button. Close the License Manager, and your copy of TinyTERM is licensed.

Question :

I'm getting an error message when I start TinyTERM that says, "This product is not licensed." Will the License Manager fix that error?

Answer :

Yes, it will. Use the same steps as above, and TinyTERM will run normally.

Question :

How abut the message, "Your 30-day evaluation has expired"? Will licensing TinyTERM fix that error also?

Answer :

Yes, again through License Manager.

Question :

When I try to enter the license, I get a message that says the license is already in use. How can I fix that? Do I have to buy another license?

Answer :

No, you won't. That error means the TinyTERM license has already been entered into your PC's registry. However, there's an error reading it back out. You'll need to remove the license, then add it again through License Manager. If you are using Windows NT, 2000 or XP, you'll need to login as a PC administrator first.

Click on Start | Run.
In the Run dialog, type:
regedit
then click OK. The Registry Editor will open.

In the Registry Editor, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Century Software.

You'll see a License1 key. You may also see License2, License3, etc., up to a maximum License9. Delete all License# keys one at a time, but don't delete anything else.

When all the License# keys have been deleted, close the Registry Editor.

Run TinyTERM's License Manager to re-enter your serial number and activation key.

Question :

I've been through those steps, and I still get "This product is not licensed." But when I use License Manager, it says the license is already in use. What's happening?

Answer :

This happens on Windows NT, 2000 and XP systems when a language requiring Unicode is installed. This includes languages such as Chinese, Japanese and Korean, but other languages can cause this as well.
