Missing lines, or misaligned characters using SCO ANSI emulation.

Question :

I'm using SCOANSI emulation, but the lines aren't drawing. There's just blank space. And it looks like it's throwing the alignment off for other characters.

Answer :

The alternate code page settings are wrong or missing. To set them, go to TinyTERM's Edit menu and select Session Properties. In the Session Properties, go to the Code Page tab. You'll see an "Advanced" button there. Click that to get the "Advanced Code Page Settings" dialog.

In the advanced settings, the top two lines are "SCOANSI Alternate 1" and "SCOANSI Alternate 2." Set both of those to "STD 437 MS-DOS Latin US." OK and save all the changes, and you'll have line draw characters back.

Question :

I did that, but I got funny characters instead of lines.

Answer :

You're probably not using TinyTERM's default TERM font, then. That's the font that has the line draw characters in it.

To get the lines without changing fonts, open Session Properties again and go to the Attributes tab. There's a check box named, "Use Non-Font Based line draw characters." Check that and click OK. TinyTERM will draw the lines in using graphics instead of font characters.
