EzeScan Open Text Content Server Integration

EzeScan has been providing advanced document scanning solutions to Document Management clients since 2002, now in partnership with Open Text, EzeScan enables images to be integrated seamlessly into Open Text Content Server effectively, with no scripting needed.

This means an easy "out of the box solution" can be used with any Twain device (i.e. MFD copier or dedicated scanner) to provide an effective way to batch scan forms, documents and invoices, and tackle those hard scanning issues that come across your desk every day.

EzeScan can also provide a combination of solutions that suits your needs;

• in a personalised workstation solution, - single scanner and desktop
• in a community solution (Kiosk & MFD for multi use)
• in an Enterprise "Server" solution, a number of input devices are monitored for upload of images and metadata to various output systems including Open Text Content Server.

The EzeScan solution begins with the base PRO module (which now also includes built in MFD, OCR & PUBLISH support). It can then be extended through the addition of the other optional AUDIT, BCR, EDRMS, ICR, KFI, SERVER ROUTING and UPLOAD modules.

How does the Content Server Integration work?

As EzeScan has a modular design there are 3 possible integration methods with the Open Text Content Server solution.

EzeScan Pro

Use EzeScan PRO to scan 1 or more documents and place the output files into a local document queue. EzeScan can also OCR, rotate images and delete blank pages automatically.

Then document registration is initiated from within Open Text Content Server and is carried out using a standard document upload and registration process.

EzeScan Pro + EDRMS

Document registration is initiated from within EzeScan itself using the EzeScan EDRMS. The operator can browse to the required Open Text Content Server folder, then save the file with the required filename & metadata or as a new document or version of existing document from within EzeScan. This provides a quick method of profiling batches of unstructured or structured documents into Open Text Content Server.

EzeScan DM Bundle

The EzeScan DM Bundle combines the previous options 1 and 2 with the additional flexibility of being able to scan and profile documents, forms & invoices directly into Open Text Content Server from EzeScan, bypassing the need to use the standard document registration form.

The KFI & UPLOAD module uploads each document into Open Text Content Server without displaying a profile form. With this configuration you can type in a field value, choose a lookup list value, or capture field values from documents (using the inbuilt OCR module, or optional BCR or ICR modules) and then use them to populate the Open Text Content Server index fields. You also have the choice to reuse fields automatically, or auto populate, thereby saving considerable time not having to reselect the same values.

This option provides the fastest method for profiling batches of documents into Open Text Content Server. Buy the modules you need today, safe in the knowledge that you can purchase an upgrade for other modules, like Barcoding or ICR, at a later time.
