INGRES ANNOUNCES NEW RELEASE OF INGRES ICEBREAKER BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE APPLIANCE INTEGRATED WITH SALESFORCE CRM

Appliance Integrates Jaspersoft and Ingres Database to Deliver Complete Solution for The New Economics of IT

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - April 27, 2009  -  Ingres Corporation, the leading open source database management company and pioneer of The New Economics of IT, announced today the latest release of the Ingres Icebreaker Business Intelligence (BI) Appliance powered by Jaspersoft. The updated version, another solution for the New Economics of IT, makes it the first business intelligence appliance on the market to be integrated with Salesforce CRM for simple and less expensive access to sales data. It also takes advantage of the latest BI features found in the Jaspersoft Business Intelligence Suite and the recently released Ingres Database. To download the latest version, please go to esd.ingres.com. The Ingres Icebreaker BI Appliance will also be listed on the Force.com AppExchange at: www.salesforce.com/appexchange.

"We no longer live in a world where companies can afford to guess about the performance of their business. All companies benefit from some form of business intelligence today and most proprietary solutions are just too expensive," said Deb Woods, vice president of product management, Ingres. "The Ingres Icebreaker BI Appliance brings together the best of Jaspersoft and Ingres open source technologies with Salesforce CRM to provide business and sales insights at a remarkably low price point."

"The Ingres Icebreaker BI Appliance allows customers to get started with the latest functionality much faster and with the benefits of open source at a much lower cost," said Jose Morales, vice president of business development, Jaspersoft. "Updated reporting and analysis capabilities also allow customers to be more responsive to the ever changing demands of today’s business climate. We are pleased that our long-standing partnership with Ingres has resulted in a product with features that so many of our customers are demanding – enhanced visibility into their day-to-day business for improved decision making."

Integration with Salesforce CRM Cloud Computing Application
Integration with Salesforce CRM lets any customer using the Ingres Icebreaker BI Appliance to interface with data in their Salesforce CRM deployment. This allows users to run queries and reports locally with features including easy-to-read dashboards, ad hoc queries, and trend-analysis reporting. Thanks to this simple plug-in, a broader spectrum of employees will now be able to access their data in Salesforce CRM at no extra charge, allowing companies to cut costs and remain compliant, while giving sales professionals more in-depth insights into products, territories, and commissions.

"In times like these, companies are looking to Salesforce CRM for the powerful benefits of cloud computing," said Kendall Collins, chief marketing officer, salesforce.com. "It has never been more important to closely understand the needs of your customers and the impact that has on your business. Companies can integrate Salesforce CRM with the new Ingres Icebreaker BI Appliance to make it easier for employees to see and act on data to make better business decisions."
