Visioneer Launches New OneTouch Application

Visioneer OneTouch® 4.6 enhanced features simplify workflow and software integration for Visioneer & Xerox DocuMate Scanners.

Pleasanton, California: June 22, 2010 – Visioneer®, Inc., a leader in intelligent imaging solutions, today announced Visioneer OneTouch 4.6, a significant upgrade that enhances and expands the capabilities of Visioneer and Xerox DocuMate scanners. Available as a free software upgrade, the new release gives users additional functionality within the Visioneer OneTouch interface to customize files, be more productive with scanned images and increase document security. The new features of Visioneer OneTouch 4.6 are:

• Custom File Naming

  File names can now consist of the scanner name, image number (within a batch, single digit or 3 digits with leading zeros), the date (Month, Day, Year), the time (Hours, Minutes, Seconds) and/or a user name.

• New Image File Formats

  JPEG2000 (JP2), GIF (Graphics Interchange Format), PNG (Portable Networks Graphics)

• Multiple Destinations/Links

  Image may be processed by multiple links. For example, the user can scan to Searchable PDF and then have a copy of the file sent to an associate by email and another copy archived in a network folder.

• Job Separation

  Separates scanned documents into batches based on either a predetermined page count or when a blank page is detected.

• Redaction

  User can define an area (height and width) within a scanned document that can be hidden with a solid box to hide sensitive information.

• FTP Link

  Transfers a copy of the scanned image to a server using File Transfer Protocol (FTP), with expanded support for FTPS and SFTP.

• SMTP Link

  Transfers a copy of the scanned image to a mail server using Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), such as Yahoo Mail and Gmail.

• Send to Application Link

  Allows the user to configure custom OneTouch destinations and have their scanned images launch a custom application. A useful feature for VARs, this link allows custom applications to have basic integration with OneTouch without having to rewrite code.

• Open Scanned Documents Link

  Allows the user to verify that the scanned image is correct before it is sent to the final destination, for example an email recipient.

• Integrated Help

  Available by simply pressing F1

• SharePoint Link

  Now includes added support for HTTPS – HTTP over SSL. Users can specify a username and password for the SharePoint server or use Windows Authentication.

• Transfer to Storage Link

  Now a simple right-click on the menu in Windows Explorer sets the Scan-to-Folder location.

• PaperPort Link

  If PaperPort is open at scan time, images can be stored to the currently opened folder and settings can be defined for each configuration.

• Log Viewer

  When an action fails the Log Viewer is automatically displayed with a report of the issue detected.

Availability

Visioneer OneTouch 4.6 is easy to install and can be downloaded from www.arsys-europe.com/Visioneer (click the download buton), www.arsys-europe.com/Xerox (select the appropriate scanner) or www.xeroxscanners.fr/Support free of charge. Complete instructions are included with the download and technical support is available as needed. The only system requirement is a Visioneer or Xerox DocuMate scanner with a current Visioneer OneTouch driver.
