INGRES CEO demonstrates the speed of INGRES VECTORWISE live !

At this year's Ingres User Assembly, Roger Burkhardt does a live demo of Ingres Vectorwise revolutionary speed.  Using the same (detailed and visible) SQL, running on 15 millions rows with 4-ways rows and calculation on a best-of-breed database, an a dual processor 3Ghz takes 52 seconds. The same on Ingres Vectorwise, running on 100 millions of rows on his portable computer takes 1.5 seconds. 

7 times more records, 35 times faster...
